An inquiry report submitted by the Hyderabad DIG, who is a member of three-member committee formed by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to fix the responsibility for any negligence in the drought-hit Tharparkar district, has been declared legally incorrect.
"The chief minister had constituted an inquiry committee to probe the issue and affix the responsibility for criminal negligence, if any, committed by the officials in Tharparkar," said a CM House spokesperson.
The committee comprises senior member of the board of revenue, Alam Din Bullo, services secretary Shafique Ahmed Mahesar and Hyderabad DIG Sanaullah Abbasi. "An inquiry report has only been received from Abbasi, who was only a member of the approved committee whereas, the inquiry report is supposed to be submitted by the committee as a whole."
The chief minister has asked for a report from the committee to be submitted without further delay, the spokesperson added.
