Vehicle registration: RIC, RID, RIE series cancelled
ET Director says they will issue new registration books and computerised numbers.
RAWALPINDI:
The Department of Excise and Taxation (ET) has decided to cancel vehicles registration series RIC, RID and RIE and has asked the owners of such numbers to approach their respective offices along with the original registration books. ET Director Shakeel Rahman said they will issue new registration books and computerised numbers. “The penalty for transferring a vehicle after more than 45 days has also been withdrawn. There will be no penalty on depositing token tax,” said Rahman. He said the owners of such vehicles should submit applications at the ET department offices for the original files of RIC and RLG series. He said owners can now make transfer deeds in post offices, adding that to facilitate the public, ET offices will remain open on Sunday as well.
