Reckless driving: Speeding bus careens off flyover

At least 5 people receive injuries when bus careens off Faizabad Flyover interchange, say police and rescue officials.

At least five people received minor injuries when a speeding bus careening off the Faizabad Flyover interchange on Wednesday, according to police and rescue officials.


The accident occurred around 8:30pm when a speeding route 101 commuter bus (LZB-1922), travelling towards Khanna Pul from Pirwadhai, overturned while entering the interchange loop, a police officer at the Shahzad Police Station said.


A Rescue 1122 official said the bus was not filled to capacity at the time of the accident and most of the passengers suffered minor injuries. The rescue official said one man, identified as Akbar Wali Shah, was “feeling unwell” after the accident and was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).


The police, however, said five or six passengers were taken to PIMS for treatment.
