Education City: Board proposes induction of Dr Ishrat Hussain

Education City Board approves master plan for establishment of 'Education City' in District Malir Karachi.

In its maiden meeting held at the chief minister house, Education City Board on Tuesday approved the master plan for the establishment of “Education City” in District Malir Karachi.


In its recommendation, the board proposed the induction of former governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr Ishrat Hussain as its new member.


According to details, the master plan includes provision of potable water, sanitation services, parking facility, pedestal walking ways, Gas supply, research parks, museum, recreational parks, sports facility and convention centres.


The board also constituted a 6-member core committee to oversee development work, financial matters and the recruitment process. Similarly, a finance committee comprising provincial secretary finance and two other members of Sindh Education Board namely Arif Habib and Tariq Moeen was also formed.
