Four armed men robbed a United Bank Limited (UBL) branch in Pahar Pur Tehsil of DI Khan, a police official at Pahar Pur police station told The Express Tribune.
The men had their faces covered and arrived at the bank on two motorcycles. After locking themselves inside, the armed robbers started firing and held the bank’s staff hostage. The police official said the men injured the armed guard, Saeed, and cashier, Khalid Qureshi, using their Kalashnikov and a pistol.
The official did not specify the amount of cash that was stolen but mentioned that the loot was worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, adding that the men also got away with the guard’s weapon (repeater).
The dacoits locked the staff inside the branch after exiting themselves and fired their guns outside the bank before escaping. Police did not arrive at the scene until the robbers had already fled.
