Shooting in Karachi : 1 madrassa student killed, another injured

The students had left the Jamia Ahsanul Uloom madrassa and were on their way home.

KARACHI: One madrassa student died and another was injured when the car they were travelling in was attacked near Moti Mahal in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi Tuesday afternoon, Express News reported.

According to police officials, four assailants on two motorcycles fired on the car, after which the road was blocked and the situation in the area was tense.

The students who belonged to Jamia Ahsanul Uloom had just left the madrassa and were on their way home.

The deceased has been identified as Ahsan and the injured as Saad.

In reaction to the attack, a crowd gathered at the scene of the crime and blocked the busy intersection in protest.

Police have arrived at the scene of the crime and are trying to take control of the situation.

Just because someone goes to a madrassah makes them poor??? I'm not taking sides but many people go to madrassahs for learning Islamic teachings regardless of their social class. What is wrong with you people trying to criticize everything. How about you stand against those corrupt politicians who have not one but ten private cars???

@Kanwal, @Chief: Feel pity on the way you think. It would have been a big deal had they been from the minority. And seminary students do come from big business families and other educated and well to do families.
