FAISALABAD: A blind teenage girl was allegedly raped by two people on Sunday. Kamalia City police said that two men had abducted a 13-year-old blind and mentally disabled girl from Mohallah Muhibb Ali Shah and raped her. Kareem Bukhsh, the girl’s maternal uncle, told media persons on Monday that his granddaughter was home alone when two men forced their way into their house and abducted the girl and raped her. “We looked for the girl all day couldn’t find her. Some elders and influential people joined us in our search. We went door to door and finally found her lying unconscious on the roof of an empty house. They [the rapists] had left her there and fled.” Bukhsh said some neighbours saw the men as they were leaving and recognised them. “One of them is our neighbour and the other his friend.” She was taken to a hospital immediately but her condition is critical, he said. Kamalia City Station House Officer Mahar Muhammad Sarfraz said they had registered a case and were waiting for the victim’s medical examination report. “A police team has been formed to trace the whereabouts of those accused, “he said.
