The first murder was reported from the city where an unidentified man stoned another to death. The body was reported to have been dumped in a house in Mohallah Dara. City SHO Raja Aftab said the deceased, identified as 35-year-old Abdul Ghafoor, was missing from his house for the past two weeks.
The assailants tortured him savagely before hitting his head several times with cemented blocks, eventually killing him, shared Raja. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained as yet.
The second incident was reported from Sandi Jabori village where Muhammad Nazir, a forest guard, was shot dead while on duty. Nazir’s family accused Wali Jan and three of his accomplices for the murder on grounds of an old family feud.
Meanwhile, a young boy was burnt to death when his house caught fire in Naroti Bala village, according to the police. Police quoted Dost Aman saying he had gone to attend a wedding leaving behind Bilal, his 12-year old nephew, alone at home.
The house caught fire on Thursday engulfing all six rooms. Bilal’s charred body was later recovered from the debris. The house was reduced to ashes, the complainant added.
