The assembly recommended that the government of Sindh should approach the federal government to take serious notice of the threats and to take necessary action for the protection of the PPP leader.
While speaking to the media, the mover of the resolution Dr Abdul Sattar Rajper of PPP alleged that the government of Punjab, especially Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, has been providing protection to militants.
“Despite the ban, the leaders of militant organisations are holding different events with approval of the provincial government administration,” Rajper said.
Destruction of temples
Earlier in the session, the issue regarding the destruction of the Hindu temple in Clifton was raised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) MPA Khurram Sher Zaman.
“Because of the underpass and flyover being constructed near Abdullah Shah Ghazi Mazar in Clifton, the historical temple adjacent to it is under threat. If something happens to it, we may witness repercussions in India and other places where our mosques will no longer be safe,” he said, citing grievances shared by the Hindu community living in his constituency.
“I have contacted government officials and even builders, but all in vain,” the PTI MPA added.
The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Sikandar Mandhro, responded saying the construction was being carried out with the approval of the Sindh Building Control Authority.
The Minister for Minorities’ Affairs Giyan Chand Essarani assured the lawmaker that nothing will happen to the temple.

We are not convinced by the claim of Bilawal Zardari, whose father has (mis)ruled this country for 05 years but hardly visited anywhere except Presidency in Islamabad or Bilawal Palace in Karachi (where the roads are still encroached), apart from England & France where he used to visit his personal properties. This guy owns the most expensive property in Lahore, where Bilawal Palace covered over 25 acres of land is built with strong concrete and has helipad in it .. http://www.feelpakistan.com/2013/02/05/asif-zardaris-new-palace-bilawal-house-ready-in-bahria-town-lahore/ If he is really serious in visiting Lahore, he can land directly at his palace and address his jiyalas within fortified walls. Most of the time he lives in DUBAI and survives on TWITTER!
Not a single person of Mush’s family has been killed or attacked in the last 6 years. Yet we are wasting millions on his protection even in a secure military hospital. On the other hand Bilawal’s two generations including mother and grandfather were killed by the fanatic zealots. Many PPP and ANP top leaders have been killed and abducted yet there is no punishment of those murders. In last elections TTP threatened ANP and PPP and gave a walkover to their endorsed parties of PML and PTI. While the two rightwing parties have no threat from TTP and its allies and never lost a single top leader, ANP and PPP are still on their hit list. These are the only secular parties in the country beside MQM and that is why its leader has to leave for UK. How many more murders of one family would it take for opponents to see the atrocities and target killings of secular leaders? Those who never stopped demanding the BB’s murder trial are now silent forever. President Zardari in his official capacity asked SC a few questions about the ZAB trial. His term has ended and CJ’s term ended but not a single question is answered. The establishment would not let BB’s killers unmasked even if an angel becomes head of the state. There would be no time for BB’s murder case in any HC or SC and it would rot in lowest of the courts as it is not memo case that required European trip for three HC CJ and a SC large bench but with no smoking gun found.
Good to denounce and condemn terrorists, and their masters but as a student of political science, I think it is not the only job left for Govt. This is mostly duty of opposition and civil society and media to give statement and push Govt. But party in power has more to do in real sense than just condemning it. There are series of well planned, and well coordinated attacks at Hindu temples in Sindh, Shias and Bravelis are being attacked, minorities are unsafe in Sindh. Extremists are playing their cards with good planning and coordination, where is serious planning, action road map and strategy of Sindh Govt? Where is short and long term action plan? Who is heading anti-extremism cell in Sindh? Just tweets, assembly speeches wont resolve issue, our enemy is shrewd, and powerful, we want our Sindh Govt to take meaningful actions against extremists, their factories and their handlers, Sindhi civil society is with you. Plz ACT, enough with statements now.
These are simply the cheap popularity antics of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who enjoys his life in Dubai and survives of Twitter, keeping aside hundreds of deaths in Thar!
It is amongst you (Pakistanis) who make them the chosen ones .. If there were held accountable on "come what may" basis, these so called self proclaimed kings will work day and night as citizen' servants, and hence will get no threats.
Another good example of our so-called "leaders" protecting each others... Looks like they do not have any other issue for their kind considerations.. How about people dying in Thar? Is anyone listening? Get real..
The way this puppet assembly responded for their So called Sindhi Son, they could've saved a lot of lives in THAR with a fraction of this timing !!! #LAME
They can condemn the "threats" to Bilawal but can't condemn or held responsible any person for the death of 190 odd kids that died in Thar.
We have commission and laws to protect each religious place be of any faith after what had happened to babri mosque. So don't worry about it. But the same cannot be said other side of border where repeatedly places were targeted or burnt down. Bring stringent laws against such mobs inculcate fear of punishment in them only then these acts be stopped. Anyway It's funny every issue even in assembly be making regional language national to religious place has to have an neighbouring country reference.
Fine if the threat to BBZ is condemned by sind assembly but is the assembly brave enough to condemn the politicians and bureaucrats responsible for the deaths of thar children? I suspect the news of threat to BBZ is self created by PPP to divert the attention from thar.
What an argument!
The temple must be saved because if isnt mosque in neighboring India will no longer be safe?!
Temple must be saved because its the heritage of Sindh! Because rights of minorities should be protected and to maintain beauty of the city and countless other reasons. The one given by PTI gentleman isnt one of them.
Why can't they condemn threats against normal Pakistani citizens. Why just the chosen ones only?
