A descendant of Tipu Sultan of Mysore, the British-Indian secret agent was dubbed the "Spy Princess".
Noor Inayat Khan worked as a wireless officer for the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) in Paris during 1943, when the city was occupied by Nazi forces. She evaded capture far longer than expected in her role and continued to send important messages to London to aid the French Resistance.
The stamp is part of the “Remarkable Lives Stamp Set” that honours individuals for their contribution to British society in sports, design, economics, heroism and the arts.
All individuals were born in 1914 and would have turned 100 this year. Each stamp includes a portrait of the individual, their name, when they were born and died, and what they contributed to society.
A memorial to her in Gordon Square Gardens, London, was unveiled by the Princess Royal in 2012.
According to The Hindu, Shrabani Basu, author of Spy Princess, The Life of Noor Inayat Khan, and the Chair of the Noor Inayat Khan Memorial Trust, was pleased with the recognition of Khan's sacrifices.
“It will ensure that her sacrifice and bravery will not be forgotten,” she said.
Khan was arrested and interrogated, but she refused to divulge any information. She was executed at Dachau by the Gestapo in September 1944 at the age of 30.

Those who deny her being Pushtoon, please, explain how she got the name KHAN. That will solve this problem. No need for name calling. Those who are jealous of Pushtuns, are welcome to burn in their rage.
@Tipusultan!: Noor Inayat Khan was not spying on Muslim of Subcontinent. She was spying on Nazi's. during World War 2. Finding Truth and Forbidding False in our Society should be the only act we should be judging to learn lesson from not to put down people. We are all waiting for final judgement from Allah. She will receive her reward for helping the British during World War 2 when final accountability court will be establish in front of Allah. @Syed Wajih ul Wahab: You Wikipedia link does not give us any kind of information regards to Nur Inayat Khan. @Awan: Now a days, It would me difficult to determine your own ancestry why challenge someone else's. @Khan is Not Khan: Doubting her Ancestry is stupid and cowardice. As a Muslim she was a brave person to report against the Nazis. Prosecuting due to ethnicity is against Islamic ethos. She was fighting against injustice toward religious minority.
May Allah forgive all our sin's and bless us with his blessing like Janat, Ameen.
Descendent of TIPU,The Great,Serving BRITISH.The cunning?? I wish I was not there to see or hear this.Alas

She was born in Moscow. She is an Icon of female bravery and her tragic end is heart breaking.
@Pushtoon In my virew Babar Khan Ghauri is the only true Pukhtoon. All others are fake.
Before one people of a certain ethnicity of Pakistan jump to conclusions and instantly call her Pathan or Pushtoon i want to clarify that her name Khan has nothing to do with So called New Patented "Khan" of KPK. She was Indian with all Indian Ancestry and her Khan name does not make her any Pukhtoon at all. Kindly bear it mind before her identity will be hijacked. I am pretty sure after some months some phony details of her family will be emerged but thankfully history is properly documented so i think such deliberate blunders will not be made.
Rest in Peace Courageous Princess
