Colonel (retd) Shujah Ahmad Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had won the seat with 47,475 votes while independent candidate Muhammad Wakeel Khan Manj was the runner-up with 31,423 votes.
Manj had accused the winning candidate of rigging the votes.
Today, the election tribunal nullified the result stating that ballot papers and counter files were missing from the record.
The voter turnout at the constituency during the May 11, 2013 elections was 60.2 percent.

@Bilal: you are quick to smell a conspiracy
35-Puncture job, now 34 left.
what about remaining 34 punchers
This was a small puncture which Mr Sethi conveniently forgot to mend. It is strange that the plea of Abrar-ul-Haq who was the candidate for National Assembly from the same area was rejected by Election Tribunal as the winner was a big wig of PML N. But poor MPA Col. Shujah has been sacrificed to show 'independence' of Election Tribunal.
we are tired of rigging every other 5 years and fake leaders.. please bring Electronic voting
ECP SHOULD BRING IN ''ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEM IN COUNTRY' ONCE AND FOR ALL.. PLEASE FOR GOD SAKE ECP..
looks like planned activity by rulers to disqualify few Provincial level candidates/seats to claim tribunals are working fine.. and not to TOUCH any national level rigging complains....
Especially PTI complains of auditing 4 National assembly seats rigging.. which has not happened and will not happen ever in next 5 years.. they will keep playing with few provincial seats every 6/7 months 1 disqualify.. isn't this called making nation FOOL.
ET please publish.
