Spurious drugs were seized from a factory in Kot Abdul Malik, Sheikhupura, on Monday.
“Raw materials and machinery were also seized in a joint raid by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Health Department and police,” FIA Director Usman Anwar told The Express Tribune.
He said the ‘medicines’ being manufactured included Exelza 3mg (Z-Jans Pharmaceutical) and Penegra 100mg.
“The machinery seized includes a tablet making machine, a packing machine and a mixer.”
The FIA director said two factory workers had been arrested in the raid.
Separately, spurious drugs were seized from a factory on Bund Road, Lahore. FIA said the Lahore drug inspector helped the Federal Investigation Agency in the raid.
The ‘medicines’ seized include Lexotanil, Humulin, Neurobion,Vancomycin, Cefaxone, Cilapen, Acyclovir, Rasibid, Penro, Neuromed, Oxidil, Megodine and Hydro.
FIA said two workers had been arrested.
Passengers travelling on fake documents arrested
In a separate incident, the Immigration Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency on Monday arrested four passengers from the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore for trying to go abroad using fake documents.
Federal Investigation Agency said Sikandar Pasha had been issued a fake South African visa by one Irfan, a resident of India, for 4,000 rands.
Muhammad Abdullah Riaz, Muhammad Abdul Moeed and Naghmana Riaz were arrested for trying to travel abroad using washed visa stickers.
Federal Investigation Agency said another passenger, Zameer Hussain. Hussain’s name was found on the exit control list.
