Temporary release: Uzbek women get bail

8 Uzbek women arrested by FIA on charges of illegal immigration and involvement in 'objectionable activities'.

ISLAMABAD:

A local court on Tuesday accepted the bail applications of eight Uzbek women arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on charges of illegal immigration and involvement in ‘objectionable activities’.

On March 15, the FIA arrested the women from sectors F-10 and G-10. On Tuesday, the women were produced before the court and it has accepted their bail. FIA Deputy Director Nasrullah Gondal said the agency had conducted raids in two sectors and arrested the women for illegally staying in the country and involvement in ‘objectionable activities’.
