
Wapda, who won the championship in 2011, will defend their title in the event, the final of which will be played on April 4.
Apart from Wapda, Railways, Army, HEC, and Pakistan Police are the other departmental sides taking part in the competition along with teams from Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
The organisers, who unveiled details of the event at the HCP on Tuesday, include President Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Women Wing Khusbakht Shujaat, Secretary Women Wing Tazeela Aamir and Secretary Sindh Women Hockey Association (SWHA) Erum Bukhari.
Speaking to reporters, Shujaat stressed that 25% of the total PHF budget should be spent on promoting women’s hockey.
