After presenting the letter of credence, the Ambassador held a brief meeting with the President and conveyed the desire of the leadership of Pakistan to work for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The President assured the new Ambassador of his support for efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
Earlier, the Ambassador called on Afghan Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmed Moqbel Osmani and exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest.
Both sides emphasised the need for intensifying bilateral cooperation in divergent fields for the betterment of the people of two neighbouring countries.
Hussain has previously served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait and Nepal.
