RAWALPINDI:

A man was arrested Sunday on charges of kidnapping a teenage girl, police sources said.

The girl went missing Saturday night and was found dumped in a plot on Sunday morning. Parents suspected that Qasim* might have been involved in the kidnapping.

According to Dawar Hassan*, at around 11pm, his 14-year-old daughter left for her uncle’s house in Amarpura but did not reach there. On searching, she was found unconscious from a vacant plot in the locality. IO Ejaz Ahmed told Daily Express that the girl is still unconscious as she had a deep wound in the head.

The medical reports apparently show no sign of sexual assault on the girl, however, things will become clear after the laboratory reports are received.  According to police, the suspect had been a former tenant of the girl’s uncle. Both had a quarrel sometimes back which was also reported in the Waris Khan police station.

Police have started investigation.
