WAPDA outpace SSGC in cycling

61st National Championship concludes in Lahore.

KARACHI: Wapda won the 61st National Cycling Championship after winning the last two events on the concluding day at the Cycling Velodrome in Lahore.

The four-kilometre team pursuit turned out to be a close affair between SSGC and Wapda, but it was the latter who triumphed by clocking four minutes 50 seconds while SSGC were 10 seconds behind.

Army secured third place to take bronze with timings of five minutes 64 seconds while HEC claimed fourth spot.

Mohammad Sabir stood first in the event, winning the last race for Wapda while he was followed by teammate Mohammad Nisar in second position. The bronze medal went to SSGC’s Noor Alam while Army’s Zahid ended on fourth position.
