Chief of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Thursday asked donors to monitor funds released for the Sehat ka Insaf programme and the health department. Speaking at the party’s federal council meeting at its central secretariat, he said an inquiry should be held into the misuse of funds and accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of using the money for raising its political stature. The QWP chief claimed bidding for the campaign’s advertisement was carried out in a non-transparent way, adding donors should not have become a party to the campaign by visiting the residence of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Opposing the possible handover of basic health units to non-governmental organisations, Sherpao said the outsourcing would compound miseries of poor patients and asked the provincial government to stop experimenting with the healthcare system.
