Mohammad Majid Ali, Haris Nadeem, Hamza Akbar and Amir Tariq have been selected for the mega event which will be played from April 4-10 in Chandigarh, India.
Former World and Asian Champion Mohammad Yousuf has once again been assigned to help the junior players’ fine tune their game ahead of an important assignment.
He will work in the capacity of coach and camp commandant, while he will also be accompanying the squad to India.
According to PBSA President Alamgir Sheikh, the visa application for the team has been submitted while necessary documents have also been sent to obtain the No-Objection Certificates (NOC).
“The visa application for the Pakistan squad has been submitted to the High Commission of India in Islamabad for issuance of the necessary visas” said Sheikh.
“All preparations for the Pakistan junior squad, which is scheduled to travel April 2 from Lahore through Wagah, Attari, have been finalised.”
It should be mentioned here that the likes of Majid, Hamza and Tariq have worked with Yousuf previously while it will be Nadeem’s first experience with the seasoned cueist.
Majid ended up as runner-up in last edition of Asian Junior Championship and is aiming for nothing but the title this time around.
“My focus during the camp will be to prepare myself for the Asian crown because I missed it after coming so close.”
