Encounter: ‘Lyari gang war criminal’ killed

KARACHI: An alleged criminal of the Lyari gang war associated with Shiraz Comrade Group was killed in an encounter with the police on Wednesday near Spencer Eye Hospital. According to Napier police station SHO Azam Khan, the police tried to stop two pillion riders during snap-checking but they started firing and the police retaliated. During the encounter, one suspect suffered bullet wounds while the other managed to flee. Khan said the suspect succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital. The deceased was identified as Sunny and the absconder as Suneel.
