Despite the heavy influx of foreign aid and government support, social development in the country has been marginal owing to the acute shortage of qualified human resource.
These views were expressed by Planning and Development Director Dr Bacha Muneer at the inauguration ceremony of the certificate training programme organised by the Centre for Social Innovations (CSI), University of Peshawar (UoP).
UoP Vice Chancellor Dr Rasool Jan has established CSI to expedite progress in the social and government sectors through non-conventional educational interventions.
Under CSI, different initiatives will be taken for capacity building of social and government sectors.
Several senior officials of the varsity and the programme addressed the ceremony which was attended by faculty members from various departments and participants of the training programme.
