ISLAMABAD: After the failure to build consensus on amending the Federal Public Service Commission Ordinance 1977 aimed at removing an impediment for the appointment of a new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), the bill might be reintroduced in the National Assembly. While the name of Justice (Retd) Rana Bhagwan Das was still on the list, three new names are also under consideration for the post of the CEC, Leader of the Opposition Khursheed Shah told journalists. He, however, refused to mention any specific names. The government and opposition have developed consensus on Rana Bhagwandas, the bill could not sail through the Senate, and that it might be reintroduced.
