LAHORE:

The filming of Quest for Justice, the first ever documentary on Pakistan’s Public Prosecution Department has started in Lahore. It is expected to be released for exhibition in May. The script for the documentary highlighting the role and importance of the department has been written by Katya Harsdorf, a journalist from Kyrgyzstan.

The project is a brainchild of Punjab Prosecution Secretary Nadeem Irshad Kiani and is being funded by German company GIZ. The Punjab Prosecution Service will provide technical support for the documentary. Harsdorf told the media on Monday that the documentary was about a murder case in which the prosecutor uses forensic evidence, witnesses, police and the judiciary to successfully prosecute the criminal. She said they wanted to make the documentary as realistic as possible and would use shots from police stations and court rooms. The documentary is being filmed at the Police Training Academy in Chuhng.
