KARACHI:

K-Electric captain Essa Khan has high hopes from his team especially their Nigerian striker Oludeyi Abayomi alias ‘Sunday’ in the National Challenge Cup that will begin on March 25 in Karachi.

The seasoned footballer said his squad is training hard for the tournament and aims to score big among the country’s top 12 teams.

“We want to win the Challenge Cup title especially after finishing second in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL),” Essa told The Express Tribune. “We are prepared to take on any team.

“I have high hopes from Sunday as he can score goals for us. I believe that had he joined us in the league before, we could’ve won the PPFL title earlier this year.”

Commenting on the Nigerian High Commission’s decision to support a football academy in Islamabad last week, Essa said that it is a good trend for Pakistan Football.
