A 28-year-old man ended his life after killing his ‘beloved’ in Saddar on Thursday.
According to the police, Shahid Ahmad and 26-year-old Saima had a relationship for the last several years. Shahid recently sent a marriage proposal to Saima’s family. But the girl’s family turned it down.
The family married off Saima to another person of their own choice, which apparently angered Shahid.
The woman was in her father’s house in Mohalla Qureshi Abad on Girja Road when, according to the Investigation Officer Sub-Inspector Khalid Mehmood, Shahid entered the home and shot her dead before committing suicide. The diseased were taken to DHQ Hospital for post-mortem and later handed over to their families.
A case has been registered against Shahid. The deceased woman’s husband lives in Italy, Mehmood added.
