QUETTA:

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is investigating 13 former provincial ministers in corruption cases, according to NAB Director General Balochistan Syed Khalid Iqbal.

Speaking at an awards distribution ceremony on Monday at WAPDA Hospital Quetta, Iqbal said the institution is looking into various complaints of corruption against current and former government ministers and bureaucrats. NAB will file cases against the accused within 6 months, he said, adding that progress has been made in the investigations.

“This is necessary to unearth the facts before the masses and to ensure eradication of corruption from the province,” he said. Iqbal revealed that an attempt to purchase old machinery worth Rs1 billion in the state-run hospitals was also foiled by NAB.
