Public health Polio campaign starts in Faisalabad

During the campaign local administration claimed to have administered polio vaccine to more than 1.3 million children

A five-day polio vaccination drive commenced on Monday.


A spokesman of the Health Department said 209,842 children up to the age of five years would be administered polio drops during the drive which would continue till March 15.

He said 457 teams had been mobilised for the campaign.

He said 382 teams had been deputed to pay door-to-door visits whereas 75 teams would administer polio drops to children at railway stations, bus stands, hospitals and other public places.

The last three-day polio campaign had concluded on February 26.

During the campaign the local administration claimed to have administered polio vaccine to more than 1.3 million children up to the age of five years. In the campaign arranged from January 20 to 22 in Faisalabad, more than 3,659 children were unable to get polio vaccinations and the authorities launched a new one soon after.
