Caught at last: Two suspected militants held in raid

A Rangers spokesperson claims that suspects were looting a passerby near Nazimabad flyover when Rangers intervened.

KARACHI: The police have arrested around nine suspects in separate raids and encounters on Sunday.

Two suspects were arrested for providing logistical support to militant organisations during a raid in Mithadar.

SHO Tariq Baig claimed to have recovered two hand grenades and two pistols from the possession of the suspects, Mohammad Usman and Azam Qureshi.

Separately, five militants were arrested during a Rangers operation in Attaur Rehman Goth in Landhi.

Their identities were not revealed. In another incident, Rangers also claimed to have arrested two alleged robbers after a shoot-out.

A Rangers spokesperson claimed that the suspects were looting a passerby near Nazimabad flyover when the Rangers intervened.

The suspects opened fire and tried to escape but both dacoits including one in injured condition, were arrested.

The dacoits were later identified as Asif Afridi and Sanaullah Afridi alias Shanoo.
