A woman sacrificed her life to save her daughter from being hit by an oncoming train in the Chak Muzzafarabad area, Taxila on Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the middle-aged woman along with her three-year-old daughter was walking along the tracks, when the little girl, Elishba jumped onto the track.
Suddenly, an Attock-bound train appeared at full speed. Seeing her daughter in danger, the woman reportedly leapt on the track and flung her daughter aside.
The train could not brake to a halt and collided with her.
There was no chance of escape, according to people present at the scene. While the woman died on the spot, her daughter suffered head injuries.
She was taken to hospital by passers-by. Doctors stated the little girl was in critical condition.
Accidents are frequent on railway tracks as train drivers are in most cases unable to apply the brakes in time.

more than the driveres applying breaks on time Its more about keeping people away from public tracks. Trains cant Stop, but people can. other countries have barriers along tracks and have designated crossing zones and bells along tracks which tell you if its safe to cross or not. You cant keep blaming the trains for something not their fault. the govt should have bells or alarms warning people that a train is approaching.
