Police officer shot dead in Balochistan

A senior police officers says that the motive behind the attack is not known as yet.

QUETTA: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was shot dead on Thursday by unidentified assailants in Naushki district, which is 130-kilometer away from Quetta.

According to a local police officer at Naushki Police Station, ASI Naseer Ahmed had gone to Naushki bazaar where he was attacked by unidentified armed men on a motorbike who opened fire at him.

“ASI received multiple bullet wounds and died instantly,” local police officer Abdul Hakeem told The Express Tribune.

The attackers managed to get away after carrying out the attack. Police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the spot and took the ASI to District Headquarters Hospital Naushki where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

A senior police officer on the condition of anonymity said it was a targeted attack and the motive behind this murder was not determined as yet.
