Contraband seized: Drug smuggling bid foiled

ANF arrest suspected drug trafficker concealing heroin in his shoes.

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Saturday foiled a bid to smuggle drugs to Saudi Arabia and arrested a suspected drug trafficker. Acting on a tip-off, the ANF team at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport arrested Muhammad Naveed, a resident of Islamabad, and seized 1.2kg of heroin from him. The heroin was concealed in his shoes. The police registered a case against him under the anti-narcotics law and investigation is underway, a source said.
