The N’s share

Pervaiz Elahi strongly opposes an alliance with Sharif’s PML-N.

Express October 26, 2010

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Monday’s meeting took place only days after a similar interaction of a PML-Q delegation with top PML-N leaders in Lahore.

Although the Q league does now not own last week’s meeting, and has insisted that the move was not on the behest of the party’s top leadership, it is believed that the delegation had been given the green light by none other than Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

The PML-N already has the tacit support of many PML-Q MPAs in Punjab that have formed a ‘forward bloc’ within the party.

On the other hand, Pervaiz Elahi, the former chief minister of Punjab, is among those leaders of the fractured PML-Q who strongly oppose an alliance with Sharif’s PML-N, unlike his elder cousin Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, who is said to be ready to talk to the Nawaz-led Muslim League provided that his faction is given some respectable space for coexistence.

Ahmer Ali | 13 years ago | Reply Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah.Nawaz Sharif is still opposing PPPP's governmental setup on various platforms but behind the scenes his party is involved in the lawmaking procedures in National Assembly and Parliament and couldn't understand Zardari's real politics even after seeing the hypocritical face and statements of corrupt and NRO certified President Zardari about Meesaq-e-Jamhooriat and just he objected but didn't take any solid steps to make stronger its standpoint on the core and burning national issues with the PPPP's leadership and also didn't show flexibility to accept his and his party objectives and mostly insisted on long marches and processions on the roads instead of using his party's majority in National Assembly and Parliament. If Nawaz Sharif doesn't learn any lesson from this PPPP's hypocritical move and still continue support PPPP behind the scenes in National Assembly and Parliament then there shall be no future of PML (N) in the next general elections and PML (Q) shall have more seats than PML (N).Now the time has come to take solid and strong steps after seeing this PPPP's loyalties changing attitude to make strong his and his party more effective and strong.
