Weak signals: 4 mobile jammers around jail removed

7 jammers were installed in wake of security threats of attacks by terrorists to free their accomplices in the prison.

KARACHI: Four of the seven cellphone jammers installed around Karachi Central Jail have been removed, said the Sindh prison minister Manzoor Wasan on Tuesday. The jammers have been removed after residents complained of weak signals, he explained. The seven jammers were installed last month in the wake of security threats of attacks by terrorists to free their accomplices in the prison. The jammers had suspended mobile phone services in the prison premises and had affected connections of neighborhoods, including PIB Colony, Ghausia Colony, Jamshed Road, University Road. Wasan told the media these four jammers will now be installed in jails in Hyderabad and Sukkur.

Why not reduce the strength of the jammers rather than removing them altogether!!
