One pound fish: Shahid Nazir’s bail extended

Shahid Nazir is accused of a leasing fraud case.

LAHORE: A banking court extended the pre-arrest bail of Shahid Nazir, of One Pound Fish fame. Nazir is accused of a leasing fraud case. The court fixed March 10 for the next hearing. Nazir told the court that he had obtained a loan in accordance with the law and was ready to return it. He said the suit filed by the company was fabricated and asked the court to dismiss it. Earlier, the court had issued an arrest warrant for Nazir after he did not appear in the court. On appearing in court he was granted bail. A local leasing company had filed a petition in the banking court stating that Nazir had borrowed Rs6.6 million. It said he had signed an agreement regarding payment schedule but had defaulted after paying a few installments.
