Academic affiliations: KU signs MoU with Iranian university

The International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Iranian Research Organisation for Science and Technology (Irost).


The MoU was signed in Iran on the recent visit of ICCBS director Prof Dr M Iqbal Chaudhry. Irost-Iran director and president Professor Ahmed Akbari signed the MoU on behalf of his institutions. As per the agreement, both the institutions have agreed to enhance relations between the two universities, to develop academic exchange and agreed to identify team members to work on joint research projects.

The MoU states that bi-institutional meeting will be held annually in the form of workshops, seminars and conferences. The Irost president said that his institution is considered one of the leading institutions in Iran. This agreement will be in effect for a period of five years.
