The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to impart vocational training to the BISP beneficiaries and provide trained labour workforce to the industry. BISP Chairman Enver Baig and KATI President Farrukh Mazhar signed the MOU on Saturday.
The main objectives of the MoU are to overcome poverty, provide a trained labour force to the industry, and encourage females to earn sustainable livelihoods.
KATI has offered to place successful BISP Waseela-e-Rozgar programme trainees in industries along with providing on-the-job training. KATI will determine the needs of the market and skills development training would accordingly be provided to the beneficiaries by BISP, while their placement in the job market will be ensured by the association.
