Beaconhouse: Olympiad attracts large crowd

A unique wall climbing contest was held at the ongoing Beaconhouse Olympiad 2014 in Islamabad.


Joining the youngsters in bouldering was Hungarian Deputy Ambassador Janos Lastofka, said a press release on Saturday.

A total of 44 teams consisting of four members each participated, and only 31 managed to reach the final round.

On the first day of the olympiad, a large number of participants from the twin cities took part in different sports competitions including basketball, volleyball, table tennis and others.

On the second day, the bouldering contest attracted a large crowd and was eventually won by Sargand. BSS Northern Region Executive Director Nassir Kasuri presented him with the winning prize of an IPad, while Hateem Rafix won the girls’ contest.

An amazing carnival was also held on the second day with attractions including food stalls, exciting rides, a bouncy castle, a spectacular horse show and tent-pegging.
