In cold blood: Two killed over ‘honour’ in Upper Dir

A man and woman were gunned down by unidentified persons in an apparent case of honour killing in Barawal, Upper Dir on Saturday.


According to Barawal police official Muazam Khan, unidentified assailants opened fire at Wahidullah and Zubaida Bibi after allegedly spotting them in an objectionable state. The official added Wahid was married and was having an illicit relationship with Zubaida.


Initial investigation revealed the assailants spotted the couple in a deserted room in Bandhagai and barged inside. They opened fire, killing Zubaida and Wahid and then fled.


Another police official said neither of the families of the deceased had registered an FIR at the police station.
