FAISALABAD: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal said on Sunday that following Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s suggestion as many as 196 water filtration plants would be installed in Faisalabad’s rural areas. The initiative will cost Rs1.864 billion under the Saaf Pani Project. Chairing a meeting, Mengal said the most advanced water filtration plants would be imported, for which international bidding was under way. He said solar pumps would power the water systems to ensure an uninterrupted supply. Mengal directed the Public Health Engineering Department to maximise their efforts to finalise sites to ensure that the project was completed without delay.
