Fatal accidents: One killed, 13 injured in road mishaps

SWABI/ KOHAT: A student of grade nine was killed and two of his family members were injured when a bus rammed into their house in Kotha area of Swabi on Monday.

Topi police official Zarif Khan said Faizan Khan was studying in a room inside his house located on Topi-Jehangira Road when a bus, en route to Rawalpindi from Topi, plowed into his house. The room collapsed as a result, killing Faizan and injuring two other family members. The official added the driver managed to flee the scene.

In a separate incident, 11 passengers were injured when a van they were travelling in rammed into a tree on Indus Highway, Kohat Sunday night.

A city police official said the van was en route to Peshawar from Bannu at the time, adding it collided with a tree near Kohat District Jail. The injured were shifted to Kohat Divisional Hospital where they were administered with first aid and then discharged.
