Ex-US consulate worker shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A former-US consulate employee was shot dead in Peshawar on Monday evening.

Faisal, 24, was shot in the head in Gulbahar no. 4 area of Peshawar.

According to initial details, Faisal used to work with the US consulate a year ago on contractual basis.

Currently he was not associated with the consulate and was pursuing his studies.

Earlier in the day four people were killed and six others injured in a suicide blast in Peshawar on Monday during a police raid.

The blast took place in the Essa Khan Ghari area of the city after police raided a house following a tip-off.

Two officers providing security to a polio team were also injured in an explosion in Khyber Agency.

The incident took place near the Shalman Road.

Three officers were on duty providing security to the vaccination team when a roadside bomb exploded and injured two of them.
