KHYBER AGENCY: Two officers providing security to a polio team were injured in an explosion in Khyber Agency, Express News reported on Monday.

The incident took place near the Shalman Road.

Three officers were on duty providing security to the vaccination team when a roadside bomb exploded and injured two of them.

The injured officers were shifted to a nearby hospital, while the polio team remains unhurt.

Polio teams frequently come under attack in the country as the authorities struggle to ensure an end to the crippling virus. The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) remains a tough ground for the vaccinators as they grapple with security issues and conspiracies associated with the vaccination campaign.
