KARACHI:

A day before Sindh Taraqi Pasand’s rally on MA Jinnah Road, the party’s chairperson Dr Qadir Magsi made it clear that if any mishap took place during its demonstration on Sunday, it would be the government’s fault.

At a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Saturday, Dr Magsi said that party volunteers will provide security to participants if the government isn’t able to. “Those who love Sindh must join us,” he said, adding that his party would not tolerate any person or group who intended to divide the province.

Demanding the government to formulate a policy that could stop arrival of foreigners in Sindh, he said that the increasing population was a huge burden on the province’s resources.

The provincial government has declined providing security to the rally’s participants due to the on-going Sindh Festival’s events and prevailing law and order situation in the city. However, the party’s information secretary, Gotam Channa, said that they had gotten approval to hold the rally from the Sindh government.

The rally, ‘Sindh Mohanji Aman [Sindh is my mother]’, will march towards the Tibet Centre at 1pm from Numaish Chowrangi.
