Accountability: Acid attacker jailed for 40 years

Convict was told to pay Rs2.174 million to family of victim as compensation and Rs2 million as additional fine.

BAHAWALPUR: Anti Terrorism Court Judge Nisar Ahmad on Friday sentenced a man, found guilty of attacking a man with acid, to 40 years in prison. The convict was told to pay Rs2.174 million to the family of the victim as compensation and Rs2 million as an additional fine. Sadiqabad Saddar police had arrested Ayaz Ahmad had attacked Muhammad Mehram on August 20, 2013. Mehram had lost his eyesight.
