Security: Rangers demand payment for costs

Rangers deploy to assist police for maintaining law and order.

LAHORE: Pakistan Rangers has demanded the release of Rs8.763 million for security duties performed from January 2012 to May 2013, The Express Tribune has learnt. The rangers had been deployed to assist police for maintaining law and order. The Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) has demanded funds to pay petroleum, oil and lubricate (POL) charges at Rs152,000 per month for rangers’ deployment at the US consulate and Jati Umra, a senior official of city government said requesting anonymity. One rangers’ company has been performing security duties at both places, he added.
