CHARSADDA: All Primary Teachers Association (APTA) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa announced a boycott of the next cycle of polio immunisation and have called for demonstrations in front of district press clubs. A meeting was held between APTA Charsadda and QWP party officials in Government High School, Charsadda. APTA District President Faizullah Khan told journalists on the occasion that owing to security fears, the teachers association has decided to withdraw from the immunisation drive because they feel they can no longer put their lives on stake. Malik Khalid, provincial president of the teachers association, said the boycott also comes after the K-P government’s decision to not hire teachers already serving in some capacity to fill the long-standing vacant teaching posts and withdrawal of all incentives previously announced by the ANP government.
