A meeting of pharmaceutical distributors was held in the capital on Wednesday to apprise them of new requirements under the new drug rules.
Distributors of drug manufacturers operating in the capital met with Quality Control Board (QCB) Secretary Shabbir Ahmed, who is also the drug inspector of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.
The participants discussed the implementation of the ICT Drug Rules, 2013. QCB secretary directed them to ensure proper storage of the drugs while distributing them to maintain quality.
The meeting also discussed the full-time appointment of a pharmacist by distributors operating with a pharmacy assistant. The distributors agreed to ensure that no drug was supplied to pharmacies without licence. Such pharmacies will be brought to the notice of the drug inspector for action under the law.
