There were three police officers on duty at the time of the incident.

SUKKUR: Three unidentified persons opened fire at a police check post in Juhi area of Dadu, killing one police officer and injuring another, Express News reported on Tuesday.

The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.

The incident took place when there were three police officers on duty at the checkpoint. The deceased officer was identified as Younus Shahani.

It was reported that the unidentified persons were robbers. Police have filed a case against the attackers and are conducting raids to arrest them.

Security officials have been targeted often these past few days in different parts of the country.

Previous incidents

Four police officers were killed when unidentified men had attacked their vehicle in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi on February 3.


On January 29, two consecutive cracker attacks on a check post had killed a Rangers official and left six others injured.

A suicide blast targeting Rangers Headquarters in Nazimabad area had left three dead and injured five others just a few hours after the first two attacks.

On January 25, at least six police officials were killed in two attacks on their vans in Landhi No6 area of Karachi.
