ISLAMABAD: French and Pakistani scholars will enhance scientific cooperation between the two countries through a series of conferences with a seminar starting next week. The French embassy, in partnership with Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) and the Alliance Française of Karachi, is organizing an international seminar on “French Contribution to Pakistan Studies,” according to a press release issued by the embassy on Friday. The seminar will be held at the QAU’s Taxila Institute of Asian Civilisations on February 3, featuring around 15 French scholars and more than 25 Pakistani researchers. “The aim of the seminar is to enhance scientific cooperation between the two countries and to encourage future joint research projects that will contribute to promote the rich and diverse heritage of Pakistan,” it said. The seminar will be followed by conferences in Karachi where French and Pakistani scholars will present the results of their scientific collaboration. France has been implementing research programmes in Pakistan in the fields of palaeontology, archaeology and cultural studies since 1950s.
