A three-day “inter-regional O-level boys football tournament” of the Beaconhouse School System was concluded at the Sports Complex Islamabad on Wednesday. Young players from southern region, central region and northern region of the Beaconhouse School System took part in the event.
Ambassador of Tajikistan Sher Ali Jononov, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic J Martin-Saravia, Senator Dr Shehzad Wasim and others witnessed the last day of the tournament. The guests admired the young players and fully enjoyed the event.
“We saw football teams of all the three regions in action. It has been a treat to watch them play with such skill and dexterity,” said Senior Headmistress Ayesha Shabbir, while speaking at the closing ceremony of the gala.
In the final match, the central region clinched the trophy for the first position against the northern region. Ahad Lone, Dawer Mehfooz and Saud Yousaf scored the three exciting goals from the central region. Medals and shields were awarded to the runner up teams. Armaghan was declared best goal keeper, Abdullah Jehanzeb best defender, Saad Abbasi best midfielder, Affaan Siddiqui best striker and Essa best scorer. Dawer seized the shield for the player of the tournament.
